About today's comic: I've replaced Melanie with my tutorial mascot for a crazy April Fools comic!

If it's too hard to read, the mascot says in the second panel, "I'm Melanie, silly! And yes, they're pearl inlaid horns".

In the last panel, Melanie is tied up but manages to attack the mascot. XD

Comic contest update: I got 3 yes votes out of 3 so my entry moves on to round 2! I'm so excited!!

I have a little less than a month to get my round 2 entry together, but I'm confident I'll make it before the deadline!
I have to do 5 character designs (colored) and a rough logo. I think the biggest challenge will be the logo.

Website news: I'm currently working on some forums for the site which should be up and ready to go in a couple weeks. I'm learning a lot as I go and I'm glad I have friends to help me through it. :)

I've switched the comic layout from manga style pages to newspaper strip style and I think it's an improvement. :)

This way, down the road, we can try for syndication if we want to! Added bonus!

I've also entered another comic (not Kay) into a publishing contest. Hopefully the judges will vote yes and send it to the next round of competition. :)
I'll keep you guys updated on how that contest is going. The prize is a comic series deal! XD Woo!

Spring quarter starts this week so things will start getting a little busier. Still, I'll budget my time and make sure there's an update every week for you guys!

On Monday, March 5th, it began. The week before finals, my newer Sony vaio desktop failed to turn on at all. Presumably the power supply has died and I don't know how to fix it (hard drive is fine btw!).

Tuesday I installed the much-needed programs onto my laptop (which froze once that day) and hooked up my DSL ethernet cable so I could actually upload my website content that I was working on.

Wednesday I turned on the laptop to discover some sort of critical windows system error. It wouldn't load windows at all and the blue screen with the actual error info would only appear for one second before the laptop would restart again. Okay, so I manage to do a full system restore that made a backup of my files. I re-install everything (estimated time wasted total: 3 hours) and got a lot of work done.

Thursday I turned on the laptop to discover the same (I assume) critical windows error. All hope for the laptop vanished quickly and I abandoned it (although I would like to get 3 image files off of it so I'll do a system restore on it over spring break).

I installed Dreamweaver on my old sony vaio desktop which I'm currently using to type this.
So far it hasn't failed, but it has its own clever set of issues (old version of firefox that won't load webpages correctly...like the campus website so I can't check my email. Bravo browser!)
I'll try and update this computer after finals, but so far it looks like if I can't fix any of my computers, I'll need to get a new one, and Macs are looking pretty nice now (except for the lack of money to buy one).

Classes began this week so I've moved in to study/work mode. Of course the Help Desk was spammed this weekend with a bunch of new students trying to figure out where everything is. At least I wasn't bored!

Website news: Unbeknownest to Aqua, I switched around the first and previous buttons so that they sent everyone back to the cover page of the comic. She just found out a little while ago. Delicious.

We updated the links on our listing on Onlinecomics.net and the Blue Dragon Online Comic Resource. I'll be looking around to see if there are any other sites that need our links updated, so feel free to point out any I've missed through email (which is on the contact page).

Comic contest update: Well it seems that Aqua's comic has gone off to round 2. I'll be working with her as a sounding board to bounce ideas off of.

I had to work during my spring break. So tired.

But at least she actually updated the comic.

She's actually updating! Work is being done! Shock!!

This actually does look better than her old layout. It's easier for her to update now, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Also, she's not the only one having computer problems. My laptop has a broken internal wireless card and if you put pressure on the laptop is has problems. I need a new one soon.
